BetMGM has recruited former FIAT and Alfa Romeo executive Casey Hurbis as its new chief marketing officer (CMO).

Hurbis, a seasoned marketing veteran with three decades of experience, will report directly to Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief revenue officer.

“Building BetMGM from the ground up into one of the most recognisable brands in the sports betting and iGaming sphere has been an incredible accomplishment made possible by the tireless efforts of our amazing team,” said Prevost.

“Bringing a visionary leader like Casey Hurbis on board adds another impactful advantage for our brand.”

Before joining BetMGM, Hurbis served as CMO at Rocket Mortgage, one of the largest retail mortgage lenders in the US.

Achievements during his tenure include Rocket Mortgage’s consecutive No. 1 rankings on USA Today’s Ad Meter for Super Bowl commercials and the launch of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, which has become the most decorated event on the PGA Tour.

From automotive to sports betting

Hurbis’s marketing career also includes 24 years in automotive advertising, where he led campaigns for FIAT and Alfa Romeo.

Hurbis previously collaborated with BetMGM’s creative agency on three top-ranked Super Bowl campaigns during his time at Rocket Mortgage.

BetMGM delivered an EBITDA loss of $123m in the first half of 2024, despite delivering net revenue from operations of $1bn, up 6% year-on-year.
